And make no mistake, he is asking us to make him one of the most powerful people in the world off of “trust me bro.” He has no record to back him up here
Does he deserve to spend the rest of his life in The Hague? Yes. Is what is happening to him now wrong? Also yes. And not so much because of him, but because once we start letting it happen to people like him, it makes it easier for it to happen to innocent people.
It’s how they get away with ensittification. They lower our expectations and prey on our nostalgia. That then creates a new standard that they can undercut later and so on and so forth.
