Siren magic is…intense. 😅

For the #lesficfri theme, “jump.”
Excerpt on blue sea background with a tail fin sticking out of the water and a dragon separating the text:

“Oh, no, you don’t!” Emilia pushed the captain away from the rail. “I’m not jumping in to save you!”

An amused smile quirked at the corners of Maria's rosy-brown lips. “But you'd jump in to save them?”

Emilia waved her hand toward the oblivious cook and master gunner. “They weren’t properly warned.
You were!”

Maria scoffed at that. “They’re sailors! They were warned. We all were.”

I’m happy to stand with GCLS and SASS in defense of our stories. 💙

Representation is important. It literally saves lives.

We will continue to write these books. We will continue to read these books. Diversity should be celebrated, not feared. Reading should be encouraged, not attacked.

It’s Banned Books Week, a week set aside each year to discuss the danger of banning books and the importance of the freedom to read. In a time when diversity and authenticity in literature is being attacked by those in power, it’s more important than ever to speak out against censorship…

The Reign of Darkness (Creatures of Darkness: Book 4) is featured in this week’s I Heart SapphFic Reading Challenge category: Wartime! 🖤

Or, in this case, supernatural world war-time (a.k.a. - the reason Rose and Kara chop a Nazi’s arm off).

This one’s for the #lesficfri theme, “hurt.”
Excerpt on blood-red, smoky background with a dragon separating the text:

“It was so dehumanizing—to feel beholden to someone who’d hurt her the way her mother had.”

Just a head. No big deal.

For the #lesficfri theme, “remember.” 🖤
Snippet on cave and forest background with a green dragon separating the text:

Another drop of blood splashed against Emilia’s leg, and she pleaded with her exhausted muscles to move. “I don’t remember inviting him.”

Maria followed her gaze to the disembodied head. “Oh.”

I finally got around to making these for Sapphic September (halfway through the month 😅). Honestly, though, where did the month go? Did the stress eat it?

If you’re participating in Sapphic September, you can use my books for the following categories. 🖤

A snippet from Book 1 this week. 🖤

For the #lesficfri theme, “beauty.”
Excerpt on sword background with swords separating the text:

It was cruel—for a dangerous woman to be that beautiful.

How was Emilia supposed to make rational decisions when the woman who might kill her looked like that?

This song fits a particular chapter of The Dragon Child (LP&D: Book 3) really well, and I’ve been working on that particular chapter for like four weeks now.

Which means I’ve listened to this song on repeat for four weeks.

Which MEANS…I’ve listened to it approximately thirteen trillion times. 😅
Music player with the song “Brother Run Fast” by Kaleo—on a mountain background with mirrored dragons on either side. The name of the music playlist and the book series it’s made for is “Lesbians, Pirates, & Dragons.”

Always thinking like a pirate.

For the #lesficfri theme, “tongue.”
Excerpt on colorful cave background with a dragon separating the text:

It clearly meant a lot to Em—to hear her own tongue so long after watching her people perish—and Maria loved that for her.

She just . . . hoped these creatures weren't cruel enough to use it against Em.

The nerdiest of vampires, Rose Foster, was in the spotlight this past week (despite her efforts to avoid those).

This last week was Nerdy/Geeky Week on I Heart SapphFic, and The Assassins of Light was one of the featured books. 🖤
