O problema de bilionários não é terem muitas coisas, muito luxo, "mais do que merecem." É ter poder. Poder pessoal, sem amarras. Quando eles gastam esse poder de forma espalhafatosa, isso é quase fofoca. Não é o relevante. Se bezos pudesse parar Veneza, mas não fazer lobby, tava ok.

Aqui com Foucault e ele está falando sobre as condições pelas quais alguém pode conhecer a si, portanto uma identidade de natureza, que define como "a superfície de reflexo onde o indivíduo por reconhecer-se, conhecer o que ele é". Porém mais do que o reflexo, ele acrescenta, a visão do reflexo.

Great article, but even without that case there are a lot of famous examples of failed prophecies that did _not_ collapse the cult. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_D... I think what causes that is when the _organization_ is more important than the _belief_. Institutional inertia is powerful.

Google at its peak was basically the best information retrieval system in human history and they and every competitor decided going from there to “you didn’t want answers you wanted half-assed auto-complete 80%-wrong hallucinations” in a few years was the right idea

You can appreciate the scale of the unusual polar warming in Oct 2025 when you look at both poles at once. Antarctica was not just warmer than average on net, it was anomalously warm almost everywhere & by quite a bit (& this is with a rel. warm ref period, '86/15). Similar for the high Arctic. 🥵🧪⚒️🌊
