He also got more votes than Kamala. What does that tell you about America and Americans?

I mean, 2016 you could chalk up to ignorance and stupidity. But in 2024 the electorate knew full well what they chose. And they chose this. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Watch them elect Barron Trump in 2044.
My first macro #photography with my Ultra #LargeFormat Abracam.
I mounted the 300mm Petzval 78cm away from the screen, giving me ±49cm subject distance, and hence a larger-than-life projection (face almost covers the entire 16" image height.)
The widest I've gone on my Abracam Ultra #LargeFormat:

Hermagis Anastigmat Serie L 1:4.5 210mm

Severe vignetting, of course, but I am not willing the shell out $$$$ for a Super Angulon 210mm.

Also: Vancouver should stop giving away car parking for free.
I think the public at large is waking up.
On CBC radio: demand of physical gold is spiking. Reasons they gave: gov shutdown and AI bubble.

I told people years ago: NVIDIA is priced as if they double revenue every year. While it was doing that then, it now stopped doing so, inevitably.

Ricoh GR1, Kentmere 100, Pyro 510

This bit of shady, tree-lined road, adjacent to our site, is one my favorite spots in the area.

2024: compose -> practice -> perform.

2025: composing is the performance, thought-process and source code included.

Definitely new Art form!

Busting out the Daihatsus to heal the TL.
It would probably also help if we no longer call it A.I. and call it ‘Markov Chain’ instead. All you get from it is the most likely next token.

I think we really should stop using antifa and just fully say anti-fascist and get them saying they are against anti fascism. Using antifa is giving them some distance and I genuinely think some of their base don’t even know that’s what it stands for.
This 5-minute game is extremely well made.
Stripped to bare essentials, it delivers a poignant message.
It was also scary. Recommended to me by @vhgj.bsky.social

Why was this possible?

* higher taxes, top marginal rate was 72% in 1980.
* top universities are all public, not chasing profit.

I would gladly pay higher taxes to bring this to Canada.
Education is society’s best investment possible.

Stop the financial servitude. Tax the rich.

Also, the stipend came with free access to all public transport. Me and my buddies wanted to use it to fullest, so one day had lunch at other side of country, 3½ hr train ride away. 🚊#Maastricht.

I am Dutch GenX, and I want every young person to have the privilege that I got:

Dutch government in 1980s, 1990s, paid every University student a stipend that covered tuition, books *and* modest living expenses for six years. A wage, not a loan.

TIME Person of the year is bad enough, but Adolf got that too.

Nobel prize? In what world? The best we can offer is a tribunal in The Hague for crimes against humanity.
I would consider switching to primmer, but then I learnt the Brits don’t use that, so as a Dutch-Canadian I will forgo this Mid-Western Americanism.

Which means that black&white conversion is the way to go here.

(Also: why is the B&W JPEG not 3x smaller? JPEG does not do one channel images?)

Whatever this is, it’s fabulous, and I’m sold.
Don’t assume that technology progresses, it often regresses.

Latency for keypress-to-photon is a clear win for 1983-tech:

2025: more abstractions, more layers, deeper stacks, more queues, more frameworks, more threads, more syncs, …

Typically brought to you by OOP.

I like how the lens was able to resolve the Japanese script on the blade.
