Jurassic Park where the power went out in the movie theater during the first big T-rex scene.
Raising the always fun question: What are your most memorable theater-going experiences?
Mine also include The Matrix, Blair Witch, and being way too stoned in Belgium when Fellowship of the Ring was sold out so we sat in the back row for Mulholland Drive instead.

It was hands-down one of the most memorable theater-going experiences I can remember, a collective 30-minute butt-clench/armrest-grab for the final climb. And we knew he lived! Wild.

We will always be fighting this about 30% of humanity whose brains are wired with a psychological need for security that is unattainable in this world and who have not matured as adults. Authoritarians appeal to these folks.

I just love the new pedestrian plaza in my neighborhood. It's so refreshing to have a little oasis from cars, a place where people sit with friends for lunch, kids play, special community events are held, folks play dominoes, etc. Cities need more of this.

DISAPPEARED IN NEW YORK: Fei and Yuanxin are a Chinese father and 6-year-old son seeking asylum. Yuanxin is in 1st grade at a public school in Astoria. They were arrested and separated from each other during an ICE check in at 26 Federal Plaza. They must be reunited with each other immediately.

H.S. students at Phillip O. Berry Academy walked out in protest, carrying signs like “No one is illegal on stolen land” ＆ “I’ll take my horchata warm cause ICE sucks.” While masked agents stormed Charlotte ＆ arrested 200, these kids showed more courage than the entire operation.

I just caught an excellent documentary yesterday called "Steal This Story, Please!" at DOC NYC, about Amy Goodman (Democracy Now!) and her career as an independent journalist. She (and her dog Zazu) appeared with the filmmakers after the screening.
