Fun Fact: Columbia Records was hesitant to put the album out because the album broke jazz conventions. Its use of odd time signatures — like 5/4 on “Take Five” and 9/8 on “Blue Rondo à la Turk” — seemed risky, but it became one of the best-selling jazz albums ever.
