I'm rewatching Star Trek Voyager and thought it would be fun to do 1 Skeet Reviews of every episode. I'm well into Season 2 and I'll start where I am. But if you'd like my thoughts on any particular prior episode, reply and request it.

S3 E24 Displaced

I loved this one. Most of the cast get something meaningful to do. High stakes adventure. Some really good sets.

S3 E23 Distant Origin

One of the best high concept episodes of the show. I love it. And I'd love to see the Both again one day.

Can't help but wonder how much growth and progress have been erased from our own history by the powerfully ignorant.

S3 E22 Real Life

Wow. The writers really went for it. I'm impressed. Episode started so silly. I wasn't expecting much out of it. Couldn't be happier to be surprised. Kudos to Robert Picardo for excellent work as well.

Very good episode.

S3 E21 Before and After

Great episode! I love time travel stuff. This is some good writing. And I can't believe Year of Hell was teased this far in advance! Wild.

S3 E20 Favorite Son

Bit of a mediocre episode. It feels like I've seen Trek and other shows play with these same tropes a hundred times. But I don't feel like this brought anything new.

S3 E19 Rise

Great episode. Murder on an elevator. Not much of a mystery, though. More an exploration of the Tuvix and Neelix relationship, with a bit of action as well.

Neelix is wrong. Tuvok really does understand people. He's remarkably good at it, especially for a Vulcan.

S3 E18 Darkling

The Doctor's newfound freedom has consequences.

But, I think they cheapen the consequences by not having anyone permanently injured or killed.

Also, when Kes was possessed and broke up with Neelix, they stayed broken up after? Why? When was that discussed?

Meh episode.

Have you not heard of CY_BORG? Or Cities Without Number? Or Subversion? Or Lowlife 2090? Or Neon City Overdrive?

S3 E17

Finally the Borg are here. But they're different. Good episode. Foreshadows the series' efforts to showcase the great enemy in new and different ways.

Tag yourself. I'm Electric Bath Attendant.

Toaster, anyone?

Job occupations, from an 1881 census. Every one of these sounds like something a sorely provoked Captain Haddock would should at someone in times of heavy stress.

Not enough writers use Spite as their protagonist's motivation. In real life, it's incredibly powerful and we use it all the time. In books, it's uncommon and almost always depicted as a flaw to be overcome.

Is that why they used to have operators?

S3 E16 Blood Fever

Can't say I enjoyed this. Gets far too close to sexual assault at multiple points.

I love the climbing uniforms though. And it foreshadows important things to come. So it's not really one to skip.

S3 E15

Truly fantastic episode. A testament to the powers of spite and stubbornness. Traits that are typically portrayed as flaws to be eradicated. But they have incredible power when used with care and intention.

That's a big part of why I love Janeway. Stubborn as a mule, when it's right to be

S3 E14 Alter Ego

Fun twist on a Trek classic. Falling in love with a hologram.

Wil Wheaton is right. If the holodeck were real, you'd have to be insane to step inside.

S3 E13 Fair Trade

I always appreciate when Neelix has something to do other than comic relief. Good journey for him. And it gives Janeway a chance to demonstrate what kind of leader she is. Including how she'll dole out discipline on Voyager.

Now THAT would've got me to play Pokémon again

S3 E12 Macrocosm

Good stuff! A good sci-fi concept. Intriguing mystery in the first half. Janeway Dying Hard in tbr last half. She's so badass. She really embodies that line from Galaxy Quest about a Captain knowing "every bolt, every weld on his ship."

Series X has far surpassed xbone.

Granted, that's mostly because the xbone was a fuster cluck

S3 E11 The Q and the Grey

Another fascinating glimpse into the Q Continuum. Great episode for world-building.

A different Captain would have mated with Q in exchange for returning Voyager to Earth. But then again, Q wouldn't have been interested in this hypothetical Captain.
