PONDER:
The meaning of life is to find your gift
The purpose of life is to give it away...
The Lord has given us His Holy Spirit to be our Helper, but He will not be of practical help to us until we yield ourselves to Him. In Romans 6:13, Paul urges believers to “yield yourselves unto God.”
EXPLORERS:
The wonder of Love is that it always creates its own universe - we are explorers of a country without frontiers, one we discover little by little is not a place but a person.

HERMIT RULE 16:
Cultivate non-dual consciousness. Remain open and vulnerable. Instead of spiritualities give way to the Spirit.
NIGHT PRAYER:
If tonight the soul finds her peace in sleep and sinks into oblivion, and in the morning we wake like a newly opened flower, then we will have been dipped again in God so as to reveal a new blossom in us.
THE DOG:
I said to the Holy Woman, How do you spend your day?
'Training the Dog is important' she said. 'I've never seen you with a dog' I replied. The dog guarding the entrance to my soul she added. It needs to learn a new question. A question other than 'What's in it for me!
RENEWAL:
The depth and nature of a radical renewal of spirit is not within our active power, what we have to do is prepare ourselves... Religious renewal is a return to prayer.
PONDER:
Let the wise listen Proverbs 1:5
Others will say, C'mon Dad, lets go for a walk!
HERMIT RULE 15:
Convert yourself into a disciple who knows how to listen and discern. On many occasions sounds manifest silence. Indeed, the important thing is not what arrives but how we receive it.
HERMIT RULE 14:
Remember you are a pilgrim in the evolving desert of this world, therefore hold all things lightly, as if for a season. So too, welcome fellow pilgrims with monastic hospitality as you would welcome Christ into your home.

The Sahara, a most spiritual place...
TOUCHED GENTLY...
Maybe there is no such thing as rain
There are only raindrops
Each with its own story
PONDER:
Your own fire, your spirit.
We all carry a piece of that sacred fire within us.
We have to honour it and care for it.
You are the fire keeper.
NIGHT PRAYER
Lord, may your gentle whisper be the word we follow, your hand the hand we hold and your footsteps be the marks in which we place our feet, As we seek you tonight, In the silence of the stars. In the calming of our minds, In the stillness of this place Speak Lord.
HERMIT RULE 13:
Value solitude - the hermitage serves the world in its prayerful separation. Learn to watch and pray until your life itself becomes a prayer to God.
IT'S THAT TIME OF YEAR! Cluster flies make a bee-line (no pun intended) for the cottage, and the Ladybirds trundle across the conservatory. What do the do during the winter, and why do I loath flies and love Ladybirds? All part of life's rich tapestry!
CHOOSE WELL:
I choose joy over despair
Not because I have my head in the sand
But because joy is what the earth gives me daily
And I must return the gift.
THE WISDOM OF NIGHT PRAYER lies in fostering spiritual connection, promoting peace, and providing guidance for the future. It offers a time for reflection, repentance, and gratitude, allowing individuals to release the day's burdens and prepare for a new one.
PONDER:
The poor long for riches and the rich for heaven,
but the wise long for a state of tranquility
LOVIN' IT!
This is how I would explain the unseen to those who want to expand their beliefs beyond what is physically visible.
Love is just that, it exists, you can feel it, but your perception of it depends on your experiences, beliefs, and circumstances.
HERMIT RULE 12:
Learn how to prolong the privileged moments when time is traversed vertically; it is so at The Lord’s Table, yet there are still distances in time and space. Unite yourself to the life unseen which requires your prayer and your vigil.
MORNING PRAYER:
Lord of the morning,
Thank you for the gift of this new day.
Renew my heart and mind with your grace,
that I may see the world through your eyes.
Help me to walk in your ways, to be a light to others,
and to use the gifts you have given me for your glory.
THE SOLITUDE & QUIETUDE of morning meditation offers us a peaceful space for reflection and a deeper connection with our faith and God. So we pause in this fast-paced world to renew our focus before the day begins. And so it does...Good morning!
HERMIT RULE 11:
Live one day at a time. Take advantage of the moments and the dawns. Discover in each moment, in landscapes, in music and in all manifestations of beauty, the depth of your true interior solitude.
ENJOY LIFE:
Do we need to make a special effort to enjoy the blue sky?
Do we have to practice to be able enjoy it. No we just enjoy it.
Each second, each minute of our lives can be like this. Wherever we are, any time, we have this capacity.
WE can be in touch with these things, right now.
