No idea if this was universal, but my year 6 teacher made us complete a book journal that was submitted weekly to check we were reading. We could read whatever we wanted. There was no judgement about what we read, just that we read something. That's really all that's required

I have mixed feelings about this. On one hand, the modern day conspiracy nonsense was right up my alley in the first few games. On the other, Black Flag's version of it was mostly wandering around the most generic "cool" office in the world and reading emails so maybe not that great a loss

As someone who has written for a Valnet site (regrettably), I'd be surprised if it was even a Slack chat. Probably just dumped onto their Trello equivalent and picked up by an excited, naive writer who didn't understand that an embargo date is not a deadline
