Ohio and 2 other states passed some age verification bullshit
More is coming out about the third party data breach with Discord's #ageverification. Several articles saying 70,000 IDs have been compromised. Discord themselves have verified the breach. Why are we being forced to comply @bsky.app, especially when twitter hasn't, and that place is way worse...

Reminiscin’ this’n that and havin’ such a good time. Oo-De-Lally, Oo-De-Lally golly what a day.
What sucks is I know this piece, it's not NSFW at all (it was specifically commissioned as a SFW piece) and yet due to @bsky.app I'm not even allowed to see the piece of art that I paid for and commissioned here

That's the point I'm trying to make, why should I have to give the third party company my ID and other personal information just for them to be hacked, ransomed, or leaked?
I'm going to wait long enough for you to see this but I don't want any association with anyone who believes that profiling and "minority report" style rule is good, so I'm blocking you. We're on our way to the police state you so desire in the US, so I hope you enjoy it
Oh, so you're saying that being a police state and cameras don't actually work?
Your whole county has less of a population than a good chunk of cities in the rest of the country... The cameras aren't deterring crimes otherwise there wouldn't be vandalism since they have to stick around long enough to commit the acts... But now I know where you stand
Look, I don't feel like you came here to talk, you came to bash on me over the specific details of a link, and now are telling me that freedom is bad and doubling down on the position. The next step saying is that police and surveillance states are, in fact, good. So I'm kinda done
It's a lot easier when you don't give kids unrestricted access to cellphones, iPads, and computers *shrugs* my dad raised me and my 2 brothers as a single father, but what do I know
That's the same argument of giving up all freedoms, and we're slowly losing all of them here in the US.
I'm well aware that a thing like that does nothing to actually stop access, if your age is what your bio says, we're only a few years off and I haven't lived under a rock
So we put the personal data of users from the EU, UK, and at least 3 US states at risk because parents can't be bothered to be parents
It's not just the EU, my US state forced this into law (against the popular vote by including it in a budget), and so now I and everyone in my state and 2 other states have to submit to this overbearing rule. I do not think that it's acceptable to force personal data collection and put it at risk
Except this isn't about what we post, it's about having to hand over an id and other personal data.
Or perhaps not force us to give them personal data?
Or did you not notice that I tagged Bluesky and not discord @nyxfluffpaw.bsky.social
Hey, so I did read it, but guess what? Bluesky is using a third party for their age verification processes too. The point of my post was to show how any and all of this is a risk to our personal data
Well, normally I'd post an art piece for Tiger Tuesday, but since Bluesky folded to age verification bullshit, I won't be posting one. @bsky.app I'm disappointed. It makes me sad that I'll probably end up leaving. I'm not giving over extremely personal data.

"IF YOU HAVE BODY CAMS TURN THEM OFF" those are not the words of a legitimate police force doing good.

This administration has gone full blown authoritarianism and no one is stopping it. I don't understand how anyone can continue supporting this knowing what is happening across the US.
NEW: Rachel Maddow drops unseen bodycam footage of feds coordinating the arrest of Newark Mayor Baraka.

I REPEAT: the feds ordered his arrest even though he wasn’t breaking any laws.

Federal agent: “We are arresting the mayor right now per the Deputy Attorney General of the United States.”

Well, this was a nice place, but you're not getting my ID. It's bad enough that our own government has been leaking our data thanks to dumbasses in doge, I'm not giving even more personal data to random ass companies online. Looks like I'm gonna have to look at moving on if this doesn't change back
