The government of Jamaica has set up a portal for contributing to official relief efforts. I will update this thread if anything analogous opens up for Haiti, Cuba, or the DR

So many people I speak to in Scotland lament the closure of The Lighthouse (soon to be another coworking space). And seeing the successs of The Farrell Centre in Newcastle really highlights this lack of public facing centre for architecture and planning.

It’s time to give Scottish architecture a public platform again
With no permanent venue for architectural discussion since the closure of The Lighthouse, Rab Bennetts calls for a renewed public platform to reconnect design, policy and civic engagement in Scotland

Loved visiting Aldo Rossi’s Monte Amiata housing in Gallaratese, Milan last week.
Also although I admire the sentiment of this climate statement it does completely misunderstand who Noah saved with his ark
Commendable to see depictions of reality of Israel’s Genocide in Gaza in such a commercial space but completely let down by term genocide not being used as well as Israeli propaganda film Book of Amos
Highlights were Andre Jaques Titanium and the Planetary Making of SHININESS, Czech Momentum of Decision, Aravena and Radio Ballads section
At the Triannale Milano exhibition Inequalities curated by Stefano Boeri. A super dense show with a lot of innovative work next to some duller bits. A bit cluttered when it comes to sound and visuals but pretty good overall

Enjoyed Thirst at @wellcomecollection.bsky.social. Curation there always strikes the right balance between art, science, history and contemporary issues.
V&A East Storehouse every bit as good as everyone says it is
Not sure if they are out yet but Florian Urban’s Form Follows Fuel and @herrehrig.bsky.social’s Neubau Atmospheres both look great. Enjoyed this year A Moratorium on New Construction, Learning From The Local and Expressway World.
Jenrick’s in full grifting goblin mode so not worth giving him the time of day. but I’ve just spent two hours in Birmingham and if you’re not charmed by its diversity you’re just weird

857 people arrested in a single day in London for holding signs opposing Israel’s genocide in Palestine

These include Holocaust survivors, vicars, retired nurses and teachers. So many of them are elderly.

New Housing secretary Steve Reed coming out the gate with boring "Build baby build" mantra. Build what exactly? Just new homes or social housing too? And what about retrofit and insulation. Where's the ambition for building what's needed?
