i genuinely think the game would be better if it had zero connections to BoTW, it's a fine game, but dear god it is not a "we took 7 years to make this" game when 3/4th of the map is just from the last game, the sky has almost nothing and the depths are just the overworld map again

the gameplay is fun, i very much enjoy making contraptions, but i did stop every couple of minutes during my first playthrough to go "oh THAT'S where the old sheika stuff is gonna be, THAT'S what they did with the divine beasts" and then be dead wrong because they just disappeared and then got sad
