updated photo of my ✨Meryl Streep physical media collection✨

i currently own a copy of every single thing Meryl Streep has ever been. i’m only missing a tv movie, 2 tv series, a short film and a few documentaries she’s narrated.
i feel like i’m being annoying by talking about Downton Abbey so much. sorry if i have been.

yes, DA is my favorite show and these movies have cemented themselves as my favorite franchise too. but it’s so much more than that.

so i wrote about why in this letterboxd review if you’d care to read it:
A ★★★★★ review of Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale (2025)
For those of you who may not know, I was in an abusive relationship for a while. It took a lot from me and did a lot of damage to me that I’m still working on repairing. I say this to try and explain ...

and god forbid you see a movie in Dolby or IMAX (which i usually do) and you have to suffer through those ads as well….
round 3 ft. my new Downton Abbey shirt 🥰

getting to see Jonathan Groff spit all over the place on the biggest screen available was something very personal to me 🙂‍↔️

they condense that yet that awful Coke ad is still obnoxiously long 🤨
it’s like super condensed now 😕 it skips her walking in, skips her wandering the aisles, and just goes straight to her sitting in the theater and saying “AMC we make movies better”
seeing the updated Nicole Kidman amc ad

fun fact: since getting my letterboxd account this is still the only thing written in my bio 💅🏼
actress Maggie Smith won an Academy Award for playing an actress who didn’t win an Academy Award in California Suite (1978).

i rewatched GOSFORD PARK (2001) yesterday and it’s still amazing! but this is the film that Helen Mirren should have won her Oscar for! her last scene is absolutely devastating and i get chills every time i see it
the four Disney characters i relate to the most✨

idk if anyone else can relate but have you ever watched a movie so good that it makes everything else you watch after seem lackluster?

i keep starting movies and stopping them almost immediately bc they’re not Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale… like if i could watch that movie every single day 😭
and what if i said this wasn’t just the best song off Teenage Dream but Katy Perry’s best song period?? 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↔️

“I didn’t agree with much that he said”

so what you’re saying is you agreed with some of the things he said?

“he was interesting”

so what exactly was “interesting” about his hateful rhetoric?
I don't think it's simpering praise. He was an interesting man. I didn't agree with much that he said, but he was interesting and he was growing, and his death is a significant loss for those who believe engagement can help bridge disagreements.
there's a weird feedback loop where the media's reaction to kirk's death pushes you to speak more ill of the dead than you otherwise would because it's the only reasonable response to the simpering praise they're heaping on him
just so we’re clear the CEO of this app is telling people they can gtfo for being upset that they’re banning people for calling a nazi a nazi and not being upset he died

lmao okay 👍🏼
We knew from the start we can’t get everything right. Moderation is a hard problem, and it’s impossible to please everyone. So we built a protocol where you always have the right to leave. If you don’t trust us, or don’t like our decisions, you deserve the right to choose an alternative.
saying this about that man but none of the other atrocities that have happened this year is very fucking telling
Violence is always unacceptable, and threats of violence have no place in public discourse. Our thoughts are with Charlie Kirk and his family.
