Once, many years ago, a witch fell in love with a young prince who did not return her affection. Scorned, she cast a curse on him, which turned him into a gruesome beast on the night of his first rut. He was sentenced to remain a lust-driven monster until he successfully mated with an omega and planted a child in its womb. Horrified by the beast he’d become, the young prince isolated himself in a castle deep in the woods.

Stories of the beast, who was known only by the name Deku, traveled far and wide. Children were warned not to stay out too late or wander into the forest, lest Deku snatch them up and keep them as his plaything. On quiet nights, when the moon hung bright over the woods, it was said you could hear his mournful howls.

Queen Mitsuki continued her fast pace, desperate to outrun the pitying looks and sympathetic gazes that haunted her every waking moment. The murmurs and whispers that instantly stopped when she appeared in front of her court. Worst of all, she couldn’t bear to look into the eyes of her precious little boy. Not when he reminded her so much of Masaru.

A choked sob threatened to leave her, but she was stubbornly proud and dug deep within herself to hold back her tears. Crying is for weaklings and those who have lost hope. If I succumb to my feelings, I’ll never recover.

As she struggled to force her turbulent emotions back into her heart, a teal carriage appeared up ahead on her path. Mitsuki didn’t see the caravan, far too lost in her conflicted feelings, but fate had other plans in mind for the headstrong queen.

The way people talked of this place he half expected a looming castle whose windows and doors had burst outward under the weight of all the riches packed inside.

What he got instead was a crooked tower absolutely consumed by ivy, leaning a bit under its own weight and wedged onto the side of a simple almost barracks-like structure like an afterthought.

"You’ve got to be fucking kidding me.” Sure he’d come all this way with the healthy doubt that the entire trip was a waste of time, but the tower could at least attempt to look promising.

Groaning, he shouldered his pack and trudged onward. No use coming all this way just to turn back around. He might as well see if there was anything inside worth his time.

Once upon a time, in a kingdom far, far away, there was the most perfect Omega to have ever lived. He smelled like roses and freshly fallen rain, enticing even the pickiest of Alphas. Everyone wanted to mark up his beautiful, pale neck with a mating bite, but no one could have him.

That’s because this Omega was Shouto, the youngest son of the cruel and vain Enji Todoroki. Rumor had it that Enji had only had pups in the hopes of giving birth to a perfect Alpha. Enji was overcome with jealousy, and forbade Shouto from leaving the castle. It was said that he’d only be satisfied if Shouto was to never find a mate.
