That backstory is WILD. The director was like "Yes THIS is the epic theatrical OTT band I need" & gave Queen a preview. They went home wrote stuff IMMEDIATELY & the HL songs became most of their A Kind of Magic album.

As someone firmly in both fandoms, you're not wrong. GRR Martin learned his craft largely writing tv shows & the books are very "nc-17 soap opera" - explaining the dynastic lore makes the Eastenders wiki bios sound sane.
