New idea I'm playing with:

Step sequencer with 5 possible values per step:

100%=Always hit
75%=Hit every other cycle (even)
50%=Hit every other cycle (odd)
25%=Hit every fourth cycle (on last bar)
0%=OFF

Allows you to create 64-step sequences very quickly with a compact UI that only has 16 steps.

Excellent release from @vidvox.bsky.social - and a powerful demonstration of what you can do with machine learning *locally*, keeping the data, not using a ton of water, etc. etc. - on a chip that's already in your machine. Tons of artistic possibilities here:

Wow, surprised to see Ableton Live in the edit suite in this Severance behind-the-scenes. (and not, you know, Avid or something - as in the video editing) Any speculation as to what they're using it for?

The Art vs. Product Dilemma in Music
Music as art? Pure creativity and emotion, transcending commercial boundaries. Music as a product? Packaged, marketed, and sold for profit. This tension between artistic integrity and commercial interests is a constant battle in the music industry. Artists often juggle creative expression with commercial demands to succeed. They lean on record labels, streaming platforms, and promotional tactics to reach wider audiences and make money. Navigating this capitalist system while keeping their artistic authenticity is no easy feat. In this capitalist setup, an artist's voice and platform depend heavily on income and competition.

The AI Beat: Music’s New Groove or Groove-less?
Issues with Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion regarding AI in art. AI is shaking up the music scene, and it's a mixed bag. On one hand, it's a goldmine for artists, offering fresh tools and inspiration to cook up unique sounds and killer compositions. But hold up, there's a catch. AI could also turn music into a one-size-fits-all deal, leaning hard on existing patterns and trends. This means we might see a dip in the diverse sounds that make music so rich and varied. Here's the lowdown: **Bias Alert!** AI can slip into bad habits if it's trained on old-school data packed with inequalities.

- Standalone app can now run in the background

Note: when you enable background mode (in System Settings), it's up to you to manually close the app!

Dawesome HATE distortion plug-in is alive ! I was happy to be part of it. It uses wavetables distortion and adds 29 modules to make it worse 🙂
