I know my last entry seemed pretty dire (and honestly, the situation with Bomo is still rocky), but I wanted to give everyone an update for those following his progress.

He’s hanging in there.

so my ex (we're cool) needs to get treatment for my cat, who lives with him... the cost of this thing is way more than he was expecting, and this is something that could potentially keep our cat alive. if there is anything anyone can do, his cashapp is $shufflesu

For now, the main goals are simple:
💊 medicine
🍗 calories
🕊️ patience

(and maybe convincing him that food isn’t poison)

I will keep everyone fully posted if his condition rapidly deteriorates or needs to go to the ER.

Bomo needs about six more weeks of intensive at-home care, with a hopeful projection of being fully healed by the end of December.

If he isn’t recovered by then, I’ll host a charity stream to cover any further tests or potential surgery—but thankfully, it doesn’t look like it’ll come to that.

Right now I spend about two hours a day on his care. Between that and doing my own medical tests, October has been… a lot.

But I’ve started streaming again.

I suppose they didn’t expect me to be determined enough to become his at-home vet tech, but here we are.

The medicine is still costly, but he’s calmer and healing faster at home. He goes full feral in clinics, so stress alone could’ve killed him.

Especially because it’s obvious he’s not dying //he’s recovering.//

And here’s the kicker—my first vet tried to pressure me into “overnight care until he’s fully healed.”

Six weeks.
$2,500 per night.
That’s $100,000 total.

Not a typo. One hundred thousand dollars.

Their “alternative”? Pay $4,000 to euthanize him.

I tried applying for a loan to help with medication and testing costs, but with the government shut down and the credit union unable to access my tax records… that’s in limbo indefinitely.

The bad news:
He stopped eating and drinking long enough to cause severe inflammation in his liver and spleen. At his age, just 48 hours without food can trigger that.

That’s why the tube feeding, fluids, and careful monitoring are literally life-saving.

The liver takes a long time to heal.

The good news:
• No tumors or cancer tissue on his tests.
• Normal bathroom habits, so no blockage or surgery needed.

I didn’t want to run a charity stream without knowing the end-game plan for his care—or what number I’d even be aiming for.

So I waited, got a second opinion, and learned that what Bomo has usually takes about six weeks to fully recover from.

The vet never gave me a clear answer on treatment costs.
He wanted to do more tests (minimum $900) and then long-term overnight care in a specialized facility—$2,500 a night.

When I asked for an actual estimate or plan, he dodged the question completely.

I’ve basically been giving him round-the-clock care at home—tube feeding, subdermal injections, medication, vitamin shots, and constant monitoring.

He has improved, but there’s still a long road ahead.
