I genuinely cannot overstate how much I love it when I get requested for horse art. I am overly prepared for this mission as a forever horse girl. #horseillo #illustrator #illo #digitalart #renaissance #joust #kidlit
The Sun - The different interpretations of sun gods through the ages. Freelance work from the vault. #kidlitart #illustration #folklore
The Red Room - two friends learn about the process of traditional film in this short story I illustrated for Aptara learning. #filmphotography #kidlitart #fiction #scbwi
Alebrije - What if the stray pets that never found a home are the ones that guide us to our final home in the afterlife? They don't know it yet, but their souls have been chosen as spirit guides, cherished in the beyond more than they ever were on Earth.
I aim to make classes that little Blayne would go head-over-heels for, and this is exactly one of those classes. Learn from a REAL bearded dragon the different shapes, textures, and tools we can use to draw other reptiles or even fantasy ones! #animalart #drawinganimals #sketching #beardeddragon
Getting ready to teach an Alcohol Markers class at Happy Time later this month! A great choice for sketching, coloring comics/manga, or even as the base for a multimedia piece, these versatile markers really make your pieces pop! #alcoholmarkers #ohuhu #copic #illustrator #coloredpencils
Happy October! I dont usually use this style for my kids' books, but it's such a fun style for whimsical subject matter! With the right timeline, maybe a book of mine can look like this too. #kidlitart #illustrator #illustration #animalinvestigator #dustbunny #mornings
In the town I live in, nestled between several mountains, vapor rising from the trees is a common sight. More than once, they've taken shapes, and what if it's the result of a creature made of smoke that lives beneath the trees? #illustrator #kidlitart #creaturedesign #fantasy #digitalart
Mess with the server, get the soup. One of my favorite pages from the vault of my first webcomic, "Dancing on Embers". Don't feel too bad for the guy, he deserved it.

I get that the news cycle is packed right now, but I just heard from a colleague at the Smithsonian that this is fully a GIANT SQUID BEING EATEN BY A SPERM WHALE and it’s possibly the first ever confirmed video according to a friend at NOAA

10 YEAR OLD ME IS LOSING HER MIND (a thread 🧵)
Thank you! Your work is lovely too!
Welcome back J-Pod to your homewaters! May the Orca gods give you safe passage! #Jpod #orca #waterdragon #seagod #creaturedesign #illustrator #seattle #killerwhale
"Ursa Major" is one of my favorite illustrations for my first book project, Eagle vs Bear: Adventures of a Child Cub by Emile Millar. #kidlitart #kidlit #ursamajor #illustrator #astrology
I love all the animal versions of this character that I was tasked with drawing for my last major project for Astronewt Studio. There I was tasked with bringing to life the sequel to their debut graphic novel, Lucille. Find out more at astronewt.com

One of the groups I host in my community is a figure drawing event called Go Figure! Figure Drawing doesn't make for great portfolio pieces, but I'm toying with the idea of a section on my website for them regardless. What do you think?

My Viewfinder class doubled in size today, and it was fantastic getting to help each student with their own individual challenges as they tackled the architecture! Witnessing so many "lightbulb" moments was extremely fulfilling in my journey as an educator!
Teaching locally allows me to not only connect with the artists in my community but to pass on the knowledge from the hurdles I've jumped while exploring different techniques/mediums. Every Sunday in September, I'll be teaching how to draw what you see!
Pippin it is too late to be taking notes!
The level of detail in a piece is dependent not just on the request of the client but also on the price of the piece. If you request high rendering and have the money to pay for the time it'll take, I'm more than happy to bust out a high-render piece like the one above!
Sunny Days -- A gift for a friend and her son, illustrated from a photo I took. If you'd like me to illustrate a digital image of your loved one, check out my website at blaynefox.com
Mandy in Mulberry - If you're interested in a Swatch Pet Portrait like Mandy's or hiring me to illustrate for your next project, head to my website at blaynefox.com
Ah!! And basking bulb. Almost forgot, thats a big one, otherwise they cant digest their protein or greens. I recommend putting all lights on a timer, we use times Plugs but they sell ones at the pet store as they are diurnal and require no lights at night.
It def depends on the dragon. Both of the girls I've had are sweet, I haven't had a boy but Ive heard they do have tendencies to love on socks from time to time as well as display head bobbing. A lot of boys are big lazy bubs.
So here's big thing you need before getting the beardie: your lighting, cage, vitamins/calcium powders (otherwise the uv is useless) source of protein(bugs) I'd recommend dubia roaches or crickets. For substrate we use slate tiles from home depot.
