Zines are meant to be w/e the fuck you want, and it's all about being an accessible freeform method of sharing your artistic voice/message. it can look ugly and cheap as hell (those are the best kinds imo). don't overthink the layout, format, font, or w/e. Just be creative in your own way with them.

Nothing wrong if you wanna make a polished/multi-artist magazine that costs a lot. but calling it a "zine" has created this mindset where people think zines are not as accessible i've noticed and that's far from the truth. Zines are meant to be accessible, they can be made from literal trash

Nowadays I've noticed this weird shift when it comes to zine culture of people wanting to make "polished/marketable zines" or spending a ton of money on making them (basically making a magazine and not a zine), so I'm going to humbly drop this:
