Unity bug reporting cycle:

Me: *files bug report*
Email #1: Your bug report is under review.
Email #2: Your bug report "Unrelated bug" has been confirmed and transferred to an internal team
Me: What? No. That's not what I reported at all.

Wait. "Red, White, and Blueland" is a real thing? Not satire?

What the actual fuck.

If I had 5c for every warning I've had to clean up every time I've imported a new asset...

Hey asset devs. If I'm paying for your asset, then the very least you can do is release your asset without warnings I'm forced to see every time I load up Unity.

It's basic software etiquette.

It's crazy how many nests there are for Great Blue Herons in just one location. Those birds are big!

Sometimes I'm amazed how dumb things can make me happier more than it should have.

From the #Unity 6.1 b3 release notes:
"Installer: Removed the automatic creation of a desktop shortcut when you install a new version of the Unity Editor."

Yup. Microsoft automatically switched me to the $99.99/year version with Spicy Autocomplete. You have to go all the way through "cancel subscription" to be presented these options and get the $69.99/year one you actually chose.

Telus asking me to sign a petition for "more internet choice"

Uh huh.

The face it's "choice" and not "choices" is an interesting slip.

Just a reminder: in a disaster DO NOT DONATE PHYSICAL GOODS

Do not donate clothes, diapers, toys, furniture etc

These invariably create a "second disaster" and go to waste.

Avoiding the Second Disaster: How (Not) to Donate During a Crisis
After a disaster happens, people want to help. But, there are right ways and wrong ways to donate after a disaster.

I'm always bemused by emails from an airline offering me a deal to "upgrade my seat for more space".

I can't help reading that as "We know the seat we sold you is shit, but we have a deal for you to make it less shitty!"

Ever seen Cinemachine in Unity and thought, "Man... I wish I could use this in Unreal?"

Now you can!

What's even better: This was made by the exact same CM people! They're pretty swell folks who have a passion for this stuff, so you know it'll continue to get even better than it already is.

My favourite thing to do in Unity is to find some super useful utility function that would be handy to use in my code, only to find I can't use it because it's internal...

Had a chat with an AI agent about business ownership, GST, CRA payroll number rules, CPP, EI, and all other fun Canadian tax stuff. So much more helpful than trying to parse the CRA website myself or paying an expensive accountant to dumb it down for me.

Good use case for AI right there.

Likely an unpopular opinion: Dune 2 sucked.

There’s no question it’s a visually stunning movie. Which is part of the problem I think. There’s so much focus on cinematography and presentation it feels like the story was an after thought.

The pacing is just weird.
