No judgement, just curiosity. You must understand the history of some of these countries. When royals look out of their windows and see thousands of people chanting “No Kings” it has to be concerning to them. The state of nobility is fragile in some parts of Europe and has been for years.

Agreed! California, Texas and NY have the most millionaires per capita. A tax (investment) is necessary to keep the customers that support their wealth capable of shopping. I cannot make retailers rich if I’m making landlords rich, and we have to eat.

That’s how you create slumlords. It would make more sense to create a rent stabilization tax that automatically adjusts with rates for all rentals short and long term. Use those proceeds as 50yr grants for low income housing to be built from distressed properties only.

Of course. I’ve left twice already. Some don’t care who their audience is. Some people are speaking directly to a certain audience. You go where your audience is. I don’t want to be there, but feel I need to be. Ask any preacher, teacher, politician, or organizer. You go where your audience is.

While this is true, the property was being used for human trafficking by Tren de Aragua, a deadly Venezuelan gang that arrived in the city when buses from Republican states were rerouted to Chicago. The raid was a joint ICE FBI sting targeting the leadership of the organization.
