All classrooms should build their own boxes as a STEM, civics, and health merge. #CorsiRosenthalBoxesAcrossAmerica #cleantheairweshare
In our short existence, The Corsi-Rosenthal Foundation has issued 58 grants providing healthier indoor air to 30,000 ppl.

The Foundation aims to substantially increase these benefits to under-resourced schools over the next several months.

A copy of my book, No Paper Today, was given away to a random caller last week during Modpo, and the recipient used to be a paperboy! Talk about #fate! #newspapers #poetry
I'm sorry to report that my delivery difficulties continue- there may need to be a follow-up volume. But ever the optimist, I still subscribe.
Get a copy of No Paper Today by Pushcart Prize nominee Suzanne D Miller! This wonderful new book filled with well honed poetry is enough to make you resubscribe to the Wall Street Journal!

What a meta photo, too!
I know, but she used them so well! There must be an alternate world where they are the eponymous Em Dash, and I may want to reside there.
Also, Dickinson didn't have AI- they're named after her, aren't they?
Students insist that their work will be flagged
So they suffer me to read commas galore.
Nested clauses do not suffice--
I crave varied phrasing
Profoumd irony:
I can count on
a copy of my book,

No Paper Today,
arriving on schedule-

but not my Journal

^ it's
I wish I could edit without deleting here.
Agreed. Also, personal finance shouldn't be advanced placement but part of foundational #numeracy skills that prepare students for adult life, not for college. It's not advanced, its crucial.
And in a place you can be proud of! Congrats!
I thought maybe it had prompted all the Konigsburg love. ;)
It's called "From the Mixed-up Museum Files of Rae Armantrout"
and I have a Litograph of it hanging on my wall.
You did see the title of my ModPo Essay 2 this year, right?
Many authors are subpar relative to the best of Konigsburg,
Congrats to a well-deserved trio! From WSJ:
Joel Mokyr, Philippe Aghion and Peter Howitt have been awarded the Nobel Prize.. for their work explaining how innovation and what economists call “creative destruction” drive economic growth.

Note that growth comes from process, not fiat.
I think it's his cheerful enthusiasm. I am torn; I appreciate the good he has done, but his book has many ideas that would be quite harmful. We live in an environment where it has become hard to criticize ideas without being seen as criticizing people.
Because Khan Academy is a valuable resource that has helped tons of students.
In Khan's book, it's clear he believes that an AI could interact with a student as Alexander the Great, and that the only objection would be linguistic. Khan misses that Alexander, like any human, was more complex than what is known about him. Khan seems ignorant of Hayek's work on knowledge.
I love my publisher.

In some ways it is harder: you have to teach and scaffold the skills that lead to success down the road. Students should learn the processing, planning, and integrative-thinking skills that allow them to grapple with more challenging material later.
Homeschoolers often bridge the gap, teaching multiple years of "college courses" to their high schoolers. AP Lit is just a stepping stone. I personally bridge the gap and would love to be part of such a conversation.
