Bishop of Norwich in the Church of England & lead bishop for the environment - seeking life in all its fullness. Born at 325 ppm atmospheric carbon, now at 412.
Good to be Advent watching and waiting at Garboldisham, and to license The Revd Lynn Fry as Associate Priest. Warm welcome, excellent benefice choir and exceedingly good post-service cheesy biscuits!
The benefice is looking for a new vicar - do you know anyone who would be interested?

A pleasure to present the Bishop’s Certificate in Christian Learning to this year’s cohort. They spoke movingly about how it had helped their discipleship - many wanting to explore more. And the new cohort has even more people taking part. Thanks to Dr Jane McLarty who has planned & led it so well.

A really good Diocesan Synod affirming our vision and strategy work, as well as receiving Baroness Sal Brinton’s challenge about truly welcoming disabled people into the life of the Church.

To the National Emergency Briefing outlining the science of climate change and its impact on nature, food security, extreme weather events, tipping points, migration, conflict, health and so much more. A very sobering assessment about the major risks we run and our collective failure to respond.

A fascinating evening of interfaith faith dialogue between Christian and Muslim leaders at the Ismaili Centre as guests of His Highness The Aga Khan and chaired by the Chief Imam of Scotland, Dr Sayed Ali Abbas Razaw.

Protecting our chalk streams should never have been controversial — yet the amendment fell because the government refused to act and the Tories, the official opposition, wouldn’t back it.

I’ll keep pressing for real protections for these precious ecosystems.

It was a privilege to be part of the celebrations at Horsford CofE Primary School this morning as they mark 50 years on their Mill Lane site. Pupils took me on a tour of the school and I joined a special service with the rector, headteacher, staff, governors and children.

I was one of the speakers at a Parliamentary meeting discussing the perilous situation of Christians in the Holy Land, reported on here:

Last night we held another parliamentary talk, one that left me deeply unsettled. What began as a routine discussion on Christians in the Holy Land quickly

A happy day in North Norfolk with Bishop Reginald from New Britain Islands in PNG - Binham Priory, Mrs Temple’s cheese (much Binham Blue enjoyed, though +Reginald thought it odd that we allowed cheese to go mouldy), Wells Lifeboat, Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham, pub meal - much good conversation.

I’m so fortunate to be a Patron of Thornage Hall and this afternoon had the joy of blessing their new £1.3M. building for older residents with physical and cognitive needs, opened by the Lord Lieutenant. May the new house be a place of joy, delight, welcome and care, as well as a loving home.

An excellent morning visiting AVIVA which employs 5,500 people in Norwich. Fascinating conversations about community engagement, staff volunteering, and a culture of service and care to their customers. And a tour of the 1904 Norwich Union Marble Hall.

It was good to be part of a delegation of faith leaders meeting Katie White MP, the Climate Minister, in advance of COP30 in Brazil. We were able to express our shared commitment to work together on climate change, seeking the wellbeing of our global neighbours.
