#BirdoftheDay is #longnecks, so here's a great egret that I met in Mexico City back in Feb. Lean and mean, its neck was curved into an "s" shape as it strutted around the edge of Lago de Chapultepec.

I don't see chickadees so much during the warmer months. While I'm not looking forward to the shorter, colder days to come, one consolation will be hanging out with these cheery little birbs in the park.

Totally agree! A few weeks ago, I actually pointed out a red-bellied woodpecker to a fellow birder who dismissively said "ah, they're here all the time". 😡

Bath time! I caught these scenes a few days ago at a communal bathing area at Brooklyn Botanic Garden. The robins seemed to be eyeing the starlings with distaste as they splashed water everywhere.
