Another one of these #birdID challenges coupled with a "do I include on my #ebird list". Juvenile bald eagle or golden eagle. Saw at Emerson woods and immediately thought golden eagle with white wing patched and white on a tail that was longer then the length of the head. #birding Thoughts?

#BirdOfTheDayTheme is #warblers any member of the warbler family and the alternative is #yelloweyes any bird with yellow eyes. #birds #photography

Sharing a magnolia warbler from September.

Driving along the Tappan Reservoir this morning, 3 bald eagles were fishing. So I slammed on breaks and tried to get some shots through the barbed wire fence. Feels like a metaphor. #birding #birdphotography

Awesome morning along the cliffs overlooking the Hudson River. Had a peregrine falcon hanging out just below eye level and really close with all sorts of poses #birding #birdphotography

So had an experience with thousands of common mergansers at Emerson Woods along then Oradell Reservoir in NJ. Was stunning. Turns out there were some red breasted and hooded mergansers in there too. With the red breasted being a lifer. #NikonP1100 is a great tool for #birding #birdphotography

I saw my first American woodcock this weekend since becoming a birder. Found an old picture of one in my driveway from 2022 and loaded it into eBird. Really a goofy looking bird #birding

So we have a second Ash-throated flycatcher vagrancy in Bergen county. This one at DeKorte Park in the meadowlands. #birding #birdphotography. They are a western flycatcher that can find themselves on the east coast periodically. Hope they are enjoying their time in Nj.

An eastern Phoebe at the celery farm in Allendale, NJ this morning. Marked as rare in eBird even though we get them regularly. I guess this guy didn't migrate as expected. #birding #birdphotography

The rusty blackbird's global population has dropped by over 80% over the last several decades and is listed as vulnerable by the state of NJ. It's an indescribable feeling to spend some time watching these special birds #birding #birdphotography

Super exciting morning. Been trying to see a west coast vagrant flycatcher (ash-throated) spending time in Bergen county NJ in Teaneck. Missed him yesterday but got some good looks this morning. My photos stink. But a #lifer nonetheless #birding #birdphotography

Today was one of those frustrating #birding days, 6 lifers ID'd by others in last 24 hours, visited three hot spots and struck out on all of them, had my tripod stolen. Meanwhile my home base had sandhill cranes fly over!!! Plus giants game traffic. Nothing to show but $40 in gas burned... 😤🤬😡

Hi, I'm Redpoll. I used to be called Common, but we settled our differences with the Hoaries and the Lessers. I'm a serial monogamist looking for a breeding season hook up. Sing me a song, show me how you can fly and let's have an Arctic summer fling

Anyone have an opinion on greater or lesser scaup? I have both represented in my list. Would love feedback. #birdID #birding #birdphotography
