This is why you don't put bollards on trails. I knew a man long ago that hit a bollard while on his bicycle. It paralyzed him from the neck down. He died years later as a direct result of that crash. And he wasn't the only one.

My view is that it is a bit of both And that you can alter the ratio by playing with transportation alternatives and other factors.

My guess is that wheels of that size aren't very light given the small numbers that they sell And the lower end tires they probably need. I do like the look. Probably corner like heck, very maneuverable.

Because the only problem with plastics is that they don't have any nanoparticles in them!

Creating a plastic material involves a three-way trade off, as it isn't normally possible to have a plastic that is strong, tough and easy to work with - but nanoparticles could offer a solution.

Nanoparticles may be the secret ingredient in making ultimate plastics

Mixing nanoparticles into some common plastics made them harder to break and possibly easier to process, pointing towards a way to make better glass-like materials or packaging

This is a one size fits all, Urban- centric approach. Shared streets, often used in the Netherlands, are a key part of any network. Especially if you need to build something quickly, cheaply or in small towns and rural areas.

Many rural areas are withering away due to populations moving to urban areas. This has been going on for a while. I wonder if anybody has estimated the greenhouse gas reductions from that migration?
