I have to say that I think the dumbest thing I’ve seen since moving to the Seattle area is that they are installing dynamically priced toll lanes along side of the regular freeway. All it does is create a rich person‘s expressway that average people can’t afford to drive in.

As a Portland native, it’s hard for me to say this, but I found a better teriyaki spot than DU’s Grill up here in Lynnwood.

At least in the west, the predominant cause of higher prices have resulted from extremely volatile energy prices during extreme weather events. The volatility was not driven by data centers. It’s been driven by a combination of factors like the retirement of baseload resources and poor hydro years.
data centers are driving up electricity prices for households — and price relief may not be coming anytime soon… Residential retail electricity prices in September were up 7.4%, to about 18 cents per kilowatt hour, according the Energy Information Administration... www.cnbc.com/2025/11/26/a...

Can somebody who’s lived in Washington state longer than the two months that I have explain to me why none of the drivers in the state can stay in their own fucking lanes?

If we don’t decouple our energy strategy from partisan politics, we’re sunk. And, we have to be ready to make the hard compromises, and sacrifices, necessary to sight infrastructure. Otherwise, we are cooked. www.nytimes.com/2025/11/18/p...
