Avallaien is over 1200 years old, however recently he’s learned, much to his surprise, that he’s rather young….for a god. He’s the more earthly, mortal-seeming brother of Archduke Varseidarach, both children of the god of magic, Tsarnendith, and the goddess of time and handmaiden of The Mother, Vaeliea. He was raised by honest common folk who worked the land and served the noble houses of Southern Lithossë, and in his time as a servant for House Goldensea he fell in love with the Lady Delysia. She had a feisty, rakish son (Anariin) and raised him with love and definitely a healthy dose of permissiveness, though Avallaien was never claimed politically as the father. When Delysia was assassinated at the hands of a rival house, and her son Anariin fled to Carynoc, his unbeknownst father, Avallaien, the valet, faded into obscurity, to tend the gardens of his deceased beloved for a millennium. Only when his long lost son returned home to eke out a new start did he reveal himself, and remains ever humble and patient to this day. He uses his immense affinity for the earth and all living things to create the most incredible flowers and plants the world has ever seen I’m so bad at writing efficiently rip ty for reading if you made it this far Anyways, grampa’s got so much rizz

Which isn’t easy to do but she’s certainly caught his attention. She hails from a single mom in Carynoc, born of naught but an unforgettable one night stand with the sea lord Malthorac during one of his more peaceful land excursions. Years later, after her mother put all her money into funding little Farren’s martial training, one of Malthorac’s captains scouted her and presented her to her father as a potential crew mate. Nervously chatty and full of youthful buoyancy, Farren won Capt Malthorac over and now she’s one of his pet projects ❤️ It helps that she looks a lot like him; he’s rather a narcissist
