Brits being contrarian (again). Norway has had this for years and I can tell you 1) it simplifies everything from online banking to gov services enormously & 2) it is less of a threat to privacy because data are kept properly in one place instead of in tens of different places with varying security

I have a chocolate weakness, too, but I restrict myself to those chocolate covered types as much as possible. Should really cut it out completely, but ... it's too difficult 😂

Well, I wondered about the Aldi chocolate after posting the above. Their chocolate is way cheaper than e.g. Cadbury, then the high-end varieties are in another dimension. Next time I go to Aldi, I'm gonna check out their ingredients.

I get Aldi diet cola, think it's called 'X', 49p for a 2 litre bottle, but I get the cans at 3 times the price because I don't drink loads. Tastes like Pepsi max to me.

It's because of the very high price of cocoa after several years of drought caused by climate change. Without changes to the content, the product would become unaffordable.

I do. When she had the accident and said she had 4 days to live and it turned out to be, I'll say 'untrue', I thought at the time that she was suicidal. I did wonder if she had deliberately driven into the bus too but 🤷🏻‍♂️ we'll never know.

The poor woman's mental health was destroyed.

It does say in that article that 75% of bird and bat boxes that should have been installed on housing developments failed to materialise.

Developers just take no notice. I reckon they put more effort into getting planning permission altered than delivering what they originally agree.

Yesterday this blog sought to make sense of the decision to drop the Chinese Spying prosecutions on the information then available, and averred that both the positions of the government and the Crown Prosecution Service did not make sense.

Now the government has published three witness statements, the picture now changes. The government’s position now makes sense, and the CPS looks as if it made at least one serious mistake and possibly another.

We live IN a 20mph zone, because of the schools in the area. The only time it's chaotic now is when ... the kids are dropped to school 🤷🏻‍♂️

Will see what it's like over the winter months but the spring-autumn period is significantly quieter.

Here it comes then. When Rachel said ‘no stand alone wealth tax’ at conference I felt that left wriggle room - it’s crying out to be done, we have enormous numbers of people in poverty and a tax system that takes more from them as a % than from people with an awful lot of money.
