New year, new book thread! First book of the year: The Incandescent by Emily Tesh. If you like reading about magical schools, but are tired of reading books written through teenagers' eyes, this one is GREAT. A fun look at the life of a teacher who also happens to be a magical badass.

I was not sure what to expect from Heated Rivalry, but it was great. Steamy sex scenes galore, but the character development felt believable. Really satisfying romance writing supported by excellent acting.

I had a lovely, mellow Christmas this year. My mother remains queen of really cool gifts—she got me some antique game pieces from Sondheim’s estate! I need to figure out how to display these so I can enjoy them all the time.
