Wow! I have many new folks, so let's start fresh. Hello! I'm Beverly. I'm from Tampa, Florida, but I've lived in the Toronto area ≈15 yrs. I'm a publicist, mostly for authors, and I live w/ my husband, two tiny dogs and two normal size cats. Nice to meet you! Feel free to introduce yourself too :)

Seeing hateful nonsense in the wake of the horrible attack in Bondi, so some reminders:
-DO NOT exploit this antisemitic attack to leverage Islamophobic and anti-Arab bigotry and xenophobia
-STOP reflexively making it about Israel because the victims were Jewish

I do think that some people who didn’t experience being Bad at Math in the 2000s and 2010s are probably really underrating how demeaning that experience was at the time
speaking on the basis of being a humanities type who struggled with math (until I learned to program later on) who felt that society was giving me a constant message in the 2000s that I was a worthless parasite who would die in a ditch on that basis alone
