My father came to United States at 14, served in WWII, and built a small business. My mother became a citizen to vote for me. I carry their sacrifices with me every day.

As a child of immigrants, I know the value of our sanctuary state status.

As Controller, I saw that our counties don’t have enough resources to best tackle homelessness.

As Governor, let’s pull aid from federal immigration raids and redirect it to such key shortfalls statewide.

To this day, I am a caretaker for my mother.

I know how important healthcare systems are – and how devastating it can be when they fail. As Governor, I’ll work with citizens to address our public health concerns.

Today, Republicans in Congress voted for a bill that will ensure Affordable Care Act subsidies expire.

Thousands of California residents rely on these subsidies to afford healthcare.

I’ve never ignored the Delta region. Beside the great people of its communities, the Sac-Joaquin Delta is home to incredible biodiversity and vibrance.

As Governor, I want to continue the work to restore and protect the Delta and all of California’s environmental beauties.

I graduated from UC Berkeley and have sat with students from UC Riverside, Cal State Northridge, and Shasta College (to name a few). As Governor, I will continue to fight for our public higher education institutions.

From UC to CCC, we will protect students and their learning.
