Ian!!!!!!! Root for the Rockets on Auntie’s account!!!!
What kindness and encouragement this is to me today, Rebekah! Thank you for taking the time to read it.
*Brothers. Praise God, I do have more than one. Lol
Brother and sisters in Christ, this is the best day of our lives! The tomb is bereft, the Son of God raised, the darkness is silenced, the Lord of life praised!
Thank you, Ed! If the surgeons are right, before long I could be at great risk of being thrown out of church for dancing. See to it, Lord.
Spinning minds unwind into unwanted contemplation. We’re forced to face what we cannot fix. All we can do is wait and weep. Take time to feel what, especially to those women, was surely the longest day of their lives. Only then can we be properly astonished by the sheer abruptness of the empty tomb.
Those in the throes of parenting rarely have this kind of margin but for the rest of us in Christ, Holy Saturday is a day of unwelcome rest when we want to work so we don’t have to think. Don’t have to face our lack of control. It’s a slowing down not just of the body but of the thoughts.
Oh David. I’m so sorry. Jesus, please be near.
Thank you, sweetheart!
This day of all days that we recall. The day when no one took Christ’s life from him. He willingly laid it down for us. Today I remember the cross of Christ in communion with those of you who call him Lord. Today nothing else matters. Our lives hung in the balance of the outstretched arms of Jesus.
11 days into a mammoth recovery of another surgery I knew was coming when I had my spine operation in August. These are painful things but very good things. Neck deep in PT but much agility will be restored to these bones. Deeply grateful! So I’ve been away for a while but can’t stay silent today.
Oh, unmatched for quoting, Zach.
Dana!!!! How have we not talked about this?!?!
The one and only worthy Doc Holliday of the silver screen, Val Kilmer, has set down his cards. Man, what fun that actor gave us in his many movies and epic performances. He was our huckleberry. May his soul find rest in God.
I’ll tell y’all something this morning. I still believe the Lord is good. I still believe in the grace that is chocolate. That as long as there are tomatoes, there is salsa. That birds sing because they know something we don’t. I believe laughter is audible hope. And love is spite to the darkness.
This brings me outrageous joy! Thank you GrammyCami!!!!
Phil, you are so welcome to share the blooms nearer me. These are right on our acres, growing wild. Go ahead and consider them yours as well. Graces from God.
Oh Sarah, I so get that. This is our one really beautiful time of year. And the azaleas! What I do believe is that, what this part of the country lacks in physical beauty and pleasant climate, it makes up for in hospitality. People tend to be warm and friendly. I hope you’ve found that to be true!
On my walk this morning. There is still sweetness in this world, you darlings. No one told these wildflowers this world is way too dark a place these fretful days to bloom.
That must be so difficult, David.
She has a few accessories but I haven’t seen the nameplate!!
Elizabeth, I love this!
