I seem to recall that when other npcs kill people, it makes Carter dissatisfied with JC Denten.
I see, so this means Paul will claim that JC killed many people, even though JC didn't kill anyone. I'd like to know where exactly we need to edit to avoid this situation.
Therefore, to prevent certain issues, some content in Deusex.u needs to be edited to ensure the translated version functions properly?
For example, in Mission 1, when Leo Gold is knocked unconscious, it triggers a special dialogue. However, if “Unconscious” is translated, the game cannot successfully read his unconscious condition, causing the dialogue to fail to trigger as intended.
I'm not sure if I've understood correctly, but are you saying that if “Unconscious” is translated, it would prevent the game from reading certain death information for objects?
I get it. Thanks a lot for your help!🥰
Hello, sorry to bother you again, but I need some help. I can't find where the text is located here.😭But I realize you've completed this. I couldn't find the corresponding text in Deusex.ini. The only thing I found was in the Augmentation section, but it didn't work.
Yes, this is quite challenging. What's frustrating is that while the Unreal Engine itself supports text encoding like Chinese, Japanese, and Korean, but the developers disabled the rendering code for double-byte text. That's why we have to go the extra mile to find a solution.😮‍💨
We actually found similar revision texts on Reddit, though they didn't match the actual text. For instance, they got Corporal Collins's number wrong. That bothered me for a while. So I'm grateful this project helped us understand the text we had overlooked.
This is a bit awkward—I'm certainly not the technical expert on our team, but just an ordinary translator.
This is because our version must replace the original text with encrypted text to correctly display bitmap fonts for double-byte chinese characters, which led to my misunderstanding. I forgot that other languages do not require this step.😂
Sorry, I realized it was my issue.😂 I used Chinese encoding to read the Ukrainian text, so it displayed as Chinese characters. I mistakenly thought they were encrypted. After adjusting the encoding, they can now display Ukrainian text. In any case, thank you very much for your help!🥰
Thank you for your kind wishes.♥️
However, I may still need to ask for your help—do you still have the original unencrypted text? While the encrypted version is indeed helpful to us, obtaining the original text would be faster.😊
But now I stumbled upon your project and successfully located the missing text using your files (though it's encrypted, it's sufficient). I just wanted to come here to say thank you.😘
Hello, I hope this message isn’t too abrupt. We are members of the Deus Ex Chinese Fan Translation Project. While translating game files, we encountered an issue: some text is hardcoded within the map files, but the unpack tool cannot fully export this text.
A brief preview of our ongoing Deus Ex Chinese fan translation project.
OMG, does this mean we’ll get a new LOK game next!
For Lore, where the text should be as rigorous as possible, this is not a good option.
The CN text of Nosgoth's Lore needs to be completely rewritten. This is a typical example of "over-localization". They wrote this part of the text into poetry instead of strictly translating it according to the original text.
I found at least 10 places where the localization team misunderstood the meaning.
