Former video store clerk, future corpse.

Social media exhausts me, so I'm pretty much just a lurker these days.

Pretty much just gonna post on my Insta now-- engagement there is just as shit as it is here, but if I must keep chatting into a void, I want to be able to share art while I do it. Follow if you will!

For a lot of writers, "success" means "making enough money to create full-time." For me, it means "getting solicited for a story every now and then." Hasn't happened yet, but hopefully I'll get there soon. Because man... Shaking that market tree every day is a draaaaaag.

Wait, are we pretending that seeing a movie six times is somehow "a lot"? Fucking amateurs.

My first-ever publishing credit, and I'm eternally grateful for it.
Today's 7 o'clock shill is our first anthology, THIS WORLD BELONGS TO US: AN ANTHOLOGY OF HORROR STORIES ABOUT BUGS. It has Cynthia Pelayo, Laurel Hightower, Kealan Patrick Burke, Paula D. Ashe, and more. Amazing cover and interior art by Jacob Blanchet.

Sometimes the whole joke is in the concept. Here's something I doodled 15 years ago or so that still gives me "the chortles" when I think about it.

I should probably invest in a scanner and start inserting text on the computer, because this whole "typing/ printing/ cutting/ pasting" thing ain't it. Otherwise, I'm (somewhat) happy with how everything is coming together.

Friends, I've come down with a touch of "the morbs" today (woke up to two-- TWO!-- rejection letters in my inbox!), so I immediately rushed to the Internet Medicine Cabinet for a dose of Lesley Gore (as Catwoman's sidekick "Pink Pussycat on TV's "Batman") to soothe my troubled heart. Enjoy!

I like to refer to my morning hairstyle as "The Man-dusa."

I don't just read pervy comics and schlocky paperback monster tales. Sometimes I cozy up with a tasteful period piece to soothe my chattering brain.

The face of an old man who is absolutely, positively going to start working on his novel today.

Just saying, I know it's awards season and all, and not for nothing, but I'm real proud of my story "Cicada Summer," Chthonic Matter, Vol. 3, Issue 2, Summer 2025, hint hint hint.

Some blank greeting cards I painted a few years ago but never did anything with.

Usually in Tucson this time of year, and let me tell ya, I'm missing that desert something fierce right now.

Is Henson stuff in the public domain yet? Cuz I've been sitting on a killer idea called MUPPET RABIES for many years.

Been interesting to take characters I wrote about years ago and make them come alive visually. Sometimes they look like strangers, sometimes they look exactly how I thought they would.

Today's creative soundtrack. Honestly prefer young scary Nick to old sad Nick, but I'm misanthropic that way.

Finally snagged a copy of Godzilla vs. Kansas City today (they were sold out by the time I got to the Destroy All monsters screening on Friday) and I HIGHLY recommend picking one up! All the Towercon vendors at Boulevard Brewery have them for sale today!

A bunch of gussied-up ghouls from "Homecoming Horrors," a series I painted many years ago (the only art show I was ever part of, so far)!

Lots of folks hyping their fave neo-noirs this month, but I haven't seen anyone rep this masterpiece-level banger.
