Back in the day my A level English (at a state school) was done like that. Makes much more sense than learning quotes.

I remember buying a CD of his standup (maybe 30 years ago) and - important figure though he surely was - even then it was unlistenable and almost unidentifiable as comedy. Some things age *really* badly
