Printing presses kept their letters in cases.

Capital letters went in the upper case.
Smaller letters went in the lower case.

This is why we say ‘UPPER CASE’ and ‘lower case.’

Ok, but what did we call them before the invention of the printing press?

MAJUSCULE and minuscule.

Ugh Ben you’re being far more gracious than I would have. I don’t understand people who appoint themselves ambassadors for some imagined public feeling. Your daughter has the right to enjoy art in her own way. Her body should not be policed by anybody.

Article reads: Taylor Swift's new album, The Life of a Showgirl, is a more enjoyable listen if you don't take Taylor Swift - the artist, the persona, the person — so seriously.
That task, however, is difficult for two reasons: first, many folklore-era fans have leaned in way too hard to the idea of Swift as an Intellectual Poet Genius whose big words signify profundity.
Second, Swift herself has imposed an intense amount of pressure on making a perfect, concise pop album in Showgirl.
