@cbcradiocanada.bsky.social can someone at CBC do a deep dive on carbon capture. For instance how much can legitimately be captured efficiently and what that cost would be?

In ten years we’ll be out of the game, our industries and all our 20th century infrastructure will be obsolete. We have NO creative thinking in this country.
Me cut trees for US, me drill for oil for US, me dig up rocks for US. Me stupid Canadian.
The greatest irony of this comment is that it's actually fossil fuel companies (and the governments they've captured) who are living in the past. The rest of the world is moving towards renewables, and all this multi-billion dollar fossil fuel infrastructure is going to be worthless stranded assets.
People who care about climate change are “dreaming nostalgically about the past.” - Minister Hodgson

Gotcha. That explains a lot.

Can’t wait to hear @beynate.bsky.social speak to the latest brilliant strategy executed today by Corporate USAs inside plant. I voted for someone to fight for Canada, not to collaborate with MAGA North! Hopefully there are Liberals cringing tonight

The NDP leadership race can’t come soon enough. Working Canadians can’t take another year of hard core neoliberal double downs. We need a solid alternative NOW!

I’m starting to tire of the Carney Brigade, they’re as tiresome as petulant Pierre. Our country is at stake, Carney is our best option to survive, but he’s not infallible. To question the MOU, to be concerned about labour rights & border legislation is legitimate.

@cathmckenna.bsky.social Wow watching Jonathan Wilkinson defend Carney on his current environmental positions is awe inspiring. No wonder Canada is such a laggard and uninspiring on moving into the future.

This is what concentrated power produces. A party wins a majority with forty percent of the vote and suddenly has the freedom to target its opponents.

Proportional representation makes prevents this kind of behaviour by requiring broad, shared control of government.

A good article on the real poverty line. The growing gap between the super rich and everyone else gets bigger every day. It is having serious political and social consequences.

When governments flip direction every cycle, long term projects stall and public trust sinks.

This is what first-past-the-post produces by design.

Proportional representation creates stable majorities that support consistent long term policy.
