draw them as accurately as a field guide requires. When the four of us some day strike out to collect images of these two kingdoms for easy portal access, we will pass enough of the relevant specimens for me to compile their own tome. This I will submit to another settlement for replication.
Luckily it seemed both unfazed by and uninterested in the taste of the berries, and the bloom it wanted only for the potential for nectar.

Assistance will not be necessary, though I thank you for the offer. I’ve come to know these lands well enough I need only seek the specimens to
What I’ve witnessed in passing suggests mossberries have a tendency toward the hallucinogenic when consumed. The blooms, meanwhile, contain an awful toxin. One which I’ve come to use on rare occasion to lace my tools with, so effective is the potency.
// Definitely wouldn’t doubt that’s the case then 😭 Wish I knew how to fix it though, RIP both of us
// Do you/have you in the past used the translate app a lot? Mine sometimes does the same thing but with French (which I was studying/translating often), even though none of the dictionary settings include other languages. So I can only guess it’s just the phone making “smart” assumptions
The concept exists, though rare in both kingdoms I have known. Aquatic bugs both edible and plentiful enough to be harvested are a commodity reserved to the elite, or were, and have always been considered a delicacy. The failing ecosystems see their place as a food staple all but eradicated.
Despite the somewhat rocky start, this, by comparison, sounds more an explanation for her dogged pursuit, rather than a thinly-veiled threat.

Her tone cools to something almost kind. “But I have heard your claims, that you are here not for conflict, but to recover. Will you tell me of your foe?”
The uncertainty of who or what she deals with to cause such a sensation is absent from her voice; still firm, still evasive, if curious.

“You did not intend to be seen by me, then. A bold choice it would have been, all the same. I take not kindly to those who might pose a threat.”
Given her family, she is well tuned to minute changes in body language and what such slight gestures might intentionally or unintentionally convey. A sense of unease settles over her like a chill at the notion he had known her own thoughts, and she finds herself again looking away.
A field guide of sorts would have served us well. My experience is my own, and rarely if ever do I find need for sustenance, enough so that the thought of recording the attributes of local flora seemed unnecessary. But for Hallow and other foreign bugs, I can see now why it might be crucial.
Too many substances belonging to this kingdom are disagreeable to the common bug. Already I have been made to confiscate mossberries and the purple blooms of Shellwood from my sibling, though it seems mercifully immune to the effects of both.
The importance of an aesthetic comfort is not lost on me, Clive. Your work is no less valuable than that of a hunter’s tools. Those living within different means will, in turn, simply have different priorities. And those living under stress may too find respite in the beautiful.
The benefit of a fine teacher, too, I well understand.

If my designs may some day help you along your many travels, as those I have inherited have helped me on mine, then I would consider it a debt repaid.
You may consider our blueprints good as traded, friend. My time spent here in Pharloom have taught me that tools and cogworks are an invaluable resource, not to be taken lightly or for granted. Often, they were the difference between victory and a gruesome end.
When you are here, or perhaps while we trade words now, I ask that you consider how I might begin to repay you your infinite contributions. My gratitude for you may be similarly boundless, but there are limits to how much I can accept for free in good conscience, and we are beginning to surpass it.
I see no reason for it to object, nor me. Already I’ve ordered for the home to be furnished with the standard essentials and curiosities to match mine upon its installation. Decorating it with personal effects will take time, however, and I have encouraged it to do so.
If it’s to visit regularly, I would see to it that it’s comfortable, even when the unending errands of this kingdom beg for my absence.
You guess correctly, good friend. It arrived for the first time but today, and my own bellhome is much too small to suit it for long. A version which Pavo proclaims ‘deluxe’ has been made newly available, much larger and with beds and bath tiers to match.
In a few days’ time, a new bellhome will be raised, larger than most. The cost in rosaries is of no consequence to me. This was a goal held long in mind.
She focuses back on him, having allowed her gaze to wander inquisitively about their surroundings, shown only by the direction her head is turned due to lack of any visible eyes.

"You are familiar with these streets, then? Has something occurred here which sees it attract such an unusual swarm?"
Hornet clocks the man's lack of confidence and jittery nature easily, but as one used to commanding a somewhat intimidating presence, assumes it's due to her specifically, if not her out-of-place appearance.

"Not busy, anxious one," she soothes. "Merely lost in this strange place."
// Tangentially related, a while back I reaaaaaally considered making a Pale King account for how fascinating he is to me. At this point I may as well just write the whole damn family
// THAT WOULD ALSO BE GOOD
I also thought about it briefly once…. alas, I don’t think I could pull it off myself
// Hoping beyond hope to one day see a Second Sentinel around here (I just think they’re neat)
