I reflect on how the slow motion reactions in the name of decorum has led us to this place. Admonishing and frowning and hoping the children stop acting out has little effect. Protest by our leadership is senseless. We need palpable action, now. Just holding the line guarantees the loss of democracy

I knew all this was going to happen. But nothing can really prepare you for what it feels like when the moment actually arrives. This is why we need each other and our communities. I plan to turn to them a lot in the coming years.
