I don't out of self preservation, but ya he is really good. Provocative is good to be in art.

Their style is very reminiscent of Jacques-Louis David or Eugène Delacroix but in a Romantic emotional art way

Most folks don’t like this one but it’s allegorically accurate. « The King’s Beavers »

Montréal Musée des beaux-arts has an exhibition of Kent Monkman’s works, who is one of my most favourite contemporary provocative two-spirted artist in Canada. So thrilled I saw the massive paintings in person

Sleep is a biological necessity, and sleep deprivation has real physical, psychological, and social consequences that need to be taken seriously. The way our society treats it as slothful to sleep according to natural rhythms (including midday naps and variant chronotypes like night owls) is evil.
Do you have any extremely niche, but serious, ethical stances?
I love the grown up Coal and Elias, moving from tween to teen/ young man. Still holding hope for those 2 to get actual action when appropriate.

Great for Johnathan.

I never again want to hear House Republicans disparage people they claim are too lazy to work
It's official: Speaker Johnson just cancelled all votes in the House next week.

The next scheduled voting day is 10/27; the last time the House was in session was 9/19.

Tired: Trump's Argentina Bailout

Wired: Trump's Failing Argentina Bailout
Trump said US wouldn't help Argentina if his "favorite president" Millei doesn't win reelection. This backfired. The peso tumbled. Millei's opponents railed against US extortion. Govt rushed to try to assure Argentines that Trump wouldn’t abandon the nation based on Milei’s political fortunes
Trump Offered a Helping Hand to Argentina. It Backfired.

We are becoming a “papers, please” country, and no one should want that.

Since we can’t rely on the HHS, CDC, or FDA to say it, I will:

MAKE SURE YOU ARE VACCINATED AGAINST MEASLES. GET YOUR MMR.

Measles cases have reached their HIGHEST point since the disease WAS ELIMINATED from the United States in 2000. We are at the tipping point for the return of ENDEMIC measles.

Wikipedia is worth $10/month because if it dies so does reliable knowledge. Cough up if you can -- it's cheaper, more interesting and morally superior to Netflix.
wikipedia's data shows that AI is siphoning traffic away from the site, which is a danger to its sustainability. ironically Wikipedia is more important than ever to users who want reliable information instead of slop, and to AI companies that need it for training data www.404media.co/wikipedia-sa...
Wikipedia Says AI Is Causing a Dangerous Decline in Human Visitors
“With fewer visits to Wikipedia, fewer volunteers may grow and enrich the content, and fewer individual donors may support this work.”

Apparently this architect, Kurt Groote, had his heyday in the late 1930s. This is actually a postwar project from 1950 but it still has that *vibe.*
I seriously don't like this building's vibe.
