The solution is never found in the problem.

Vocal Issue Differential:

1) Problem (symptom)
2) Desirable vs. Undesirable behaviour patterns:
     A. Primary intermediary (ie registration, tongue tension)
     B. Secondary intermediary (ie breath management)
3) Root Cause 
     A. Functional
     B. Cognitive (wrong understanding or intention)

"Never sing louder than beautiful" is a common phase often told to singers. But sometimes of course that's not what you're going for. Beauty isn't always the goal and does not always convey the emotional content adequately or tell the story. If that's the the case, then by all means go for it.
