its kind of hilarious when I just started running ads like a month ago LMAO if pre-rolls didn't suck so bad I'd turn them off completely again because what is even the point anymore. I'm happy we at least have our art to depend on but having the extra security was really nice.

It is wild, putting the blame on the viewer will only scare people away from your platform.

I wouldn’t even care that much if I didn’t get ad rev from people being tabbed out or using ad blockers. But destroying ccv and affecting sponsorships/discoverability is fucked up.

It sucks so much ass. Sponsors adjust the amount you make based on ccv - future opportunities will likely have a reduced payout unless something about twitch or the marketing teams for sponsors changes.

I’ve been doing similar bits with my community where I encourage unlurking at a specific moment and I do see a significant bump whenever I do it LOL

Lurkers shouldn’t have to be paying full attention all the time to be counted, I don’t know what Twitch is thinking.

It’s ok to be worried about viewership when it’s a part of our jobs! I hope they revert it but after the thumbnail garbage who knows.

It’s kind of embarrassing to point it out but it’s been reaching the point of seriously affecting my livelihood. My community is full of artists who lurk/work alongside me and Twitch has simply decided they don’t exist.

Twitch finally admitted their anti-bot system is negatively impacting authentic view counts, alongside a bunch of other bizarre choices for what makes you count as a viewer. We were all right to complain.

These past few months my average viewership has dropped from 300+ to 150.

After being off social media for about 5 years following the Tumblr exodus, it was honestly exhilarating getting back into things through Vtubing - but now I find myself retreating into my enclosure with my closest friends, my loved ones, and people who share a genuine love for art.

This was a big year of "disconnecting" for me and leaving the hell site was one of my most significant steps towards a much healthier brain-
