Yup, taped copy for us too. I can still picture the promos for other dino themed programs in between Snapple commercials. The youths will never know the frustration of fast-forwarding through ads but going too far and having to rewind back to when the movie resumes.

While I never really engaged with original series Trek, I still have enough cultural exposure to get chills when Giacchino brings in the show theme right at the end of the movie. (Plus the score during George's sacrifice elevates the scene so friggin' much.😭)

Now trying to decide what I want for lunch, which is depressing me in a different entirely stupid way.😒

Currently depressed because I woke up craving one of those big classic cinnamon rolls but I couldn't figure out where to get one so I have now given up on the idea of breakfast altogether and may not even leave the house at all today.🥺

Also too young to see when it came out, but pretty sure it was the first proper film score I was into. A high school orchestra came to play at our elementary school and I remember coming out so completely pumped from the JP theme.

I didn’t care for it when I was little. I thought it was too scary at times and boring at other times. The sequel was much more fun.

Definitely came to appreciate the original more as I got older and understood what was happening.

Happy to report that the Game Boy is an excellent build! Never had original one myself but I did have GB Color, and Lego included so many tactile doodads that my nostalgia is fully satisfied. Buttons are nice and squishy, power switch clicks perfectly, even the volume dial just feels right. 10/10!👍

Decent day so far! Got in a good walk before the rain started, had a new Lego set (pictured) delivered earlier than expected, and even made a new friend (also pictured)!

Freshly evicted from my bedroom: the biggest wolf spider I’ve ever seen whose body alone was as big as a honeybee and legspan was like 2 inches across.

Fun fact: in her first comic appearance, Vel's original surname was "Grawlix" as a joke on how much she cussed. Her canonical name of "vo'Sanning" came later when her story expanded.

I just learned about a spider I’d never heard of before: the vampire spider.

It’s a jumping spider with a primary diet of blood BUT! it gets blood exclusively by hunting mosquitos. It eats other bugs if necessary, but fed mosquitos are always its first choice.

Also lookit how cool the males are!
