Miscreants have vandalised a dozen vehicles in the Sanjauli locality in Shimla, police said here today. The incident occurred around Wednesday midnight when several miscreants broke the windshields and windows of cars parked in the Dhingudhar Colony in Sanjauli. Locals called the police on seeing that the cars were badly damaged. They alleged that many people roam around in the area at night in an intoxicated condition and suspected they might be behind the act. A police team from Sanjauli reached the spot to take stock of the situation. The police have also examined CCTV footage to identify the miscreants.

The body of a 35-year-old man, who was swept away in a seasonal rivulet, was recovered near Khalwana village in Punjab’s Hoshiarpur on Thursday morning, police said. The Nasrala police post in-charge assistant sub-inspector Surinder Pal Singh said Baljinder Singh, a resident of Fatehgarh Niara village, was returning home from work when he attempted to cross the Hargarh rivulet. However, due to the strong current, he was swept away. A search operation was launched by the police, his family members and local villagers, and his body was found this morning near Khalwana.

The team of the Bahadurgarh (Jhajjar) STF on Thursday nabbed two shooters of the Rohit Godara gang after a brief encounter in Sector 10 of Gurugram. Navi Mumbai: Cidco's Navi Mumbai region is facing a shortage of 80 MLD water since Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran's (MJP) Nhava Sheva Water Supply Scheme-III is to supply water to many locations. Only 67% of the scheme has been completed till July 2025. The Rs 493-crore project is to supply 228 MLD water from Patalganga river, Khalapur, to Panvel civic body (100 MLD), Cidco (69 MLD), JNPA (40 MLD) and MMRDA (19 MLD) areas. "So far Rs 251 crore have been spent to achieve the above target against receipt of Rs 304 crore by the agency.

A Bitcoiner lost $91 million in a single transaction to a social engineering attack on Tuesday, with funds then sent to a privacy-focused Bitcoin wallet, according to blockchain investigator ZachXBT. The victim was deceived by impostors posing as crypto exchange and hardware wallet support, losing 783 Bitcoin (BTC) in a single transaction, ZachXBT said in an X post on Thursday. Blockchain data shows the theft occurred on Tuesday at 11:06 am UTC, and the exploiter started laundering the stolen funds a day later through the Bitcoin privacy-focused Wasabi Wallet to conceal the trail of the stolen funds, ZachXBT said.

The Gurugram police have arrested six persons accused of kidnapping three youths. The kidnapping reportedly occurred after a dispute between the accused and the victims. Thane: Transport minister Pratap Sarnaik on Wednesday announced plans to lau-nch the pod taxi project in Thane city, describing it as an environmentally friendly and economical transportation system that would complement the Metro network.Speaking at a development review meeting at the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) auditorium, Sarnaik said the groundbreaking ceremony for the project would be conducted after completing legal formalities.The proposed pod taxi network will span 52km with an estimated 63 stations. The fare structure has been kept affordable at Rs 30 per person per stage. "Legal approvals for passenger safety, financial viability assessment, and other formalities need to be completed before launching the project on PPP basis," Sarnaik said.However, not all residents were convinced.
