I must have spent days of my life typing `document.querySelector(All)` in browser consoles only to realize I can simply type `$(selector)` and `$$(selector)`

Part 2 of the Teamtailor Embroider series goes through all the things we did to make static invocation possible in our large Ember app.

I hope you enjoy reading it and that you might learn something you can apply.

I'm really looking forward to that!
Will be doing a short workshop at emberfest covering migration from 4.x to 5.x of EmberData/ @warp-drive.io

It’ll include ModelFragments. We’ve made great progress and expect to have the path ready in the next few weeks, and we think we might be able to develop a codemod for much of it.

Ember is really spoiled with some of the greatest conferences and even if you don’t use Ember but just love Frontend and great people you should come, cause you’re missing out.
A heads up that as is EmberFest tradition, we'll have a closing dinner and mingling in the evening of the second day. It's included in the price of your on-site ticket.

Why yes, configuring @warp-drive.io did just get a lot easier. Glad you noticed!

Such a great article on LessWrong (and one of the few ones I mostly understand 😅) about why ChatGPT is a sycophant.

After months of fragmented effort, I finally published the prototype omni-REPL for web frameworks and things that render DOM.

I'm very excited (and relieved) to have achieved this milestone.

I had to completely re-architect how this REPL worked 🙈

The Ember Inspector doesn’t support Vite yet. We’re changing that. It means rewriting builds, bridging AMD + ESM, and getting changes into Ember itself.
Here’s how we’re doing it 👇

Google is raising my Google Workspace pricing claiming all the “AI value” added.

I turned off Gemini in Gmail and Docs because it just doesn’t work / do anything useful for me.

So why am I being charged more?

Having costs b/c of AI is not the same as generating value with AI…

Something I hear very little talk about:

How AI coding tools are so much LESS useful when used on existing, large codebases at work (with custom frameworks, conventions, coding style etc)

... compared to doing greenfield/side projects

"Yeah I love it on my side projects, but at work it's 'meh'"

It's getting better by each announcement, isn't it? 😆 You know you want to come to EmberFest.
We updated the website with the gorgeous venue we've secured for this year: the Royal Flemish Theater.

If you want to meet your favorite Ember peeps and help make EmberFest actually happen, reserve your spot—it‘s by far the best way to support the show:
