We work in the golden age for biomethane - NetZero, bio-CO2 to CCS, Reverse Compression and Bio-CNG trucks (and green H2 to industry/NTS)

The purpose of Green Gas Day is to share useful and valuable information to everyone interested in Biomethane

In summary - it’s great, get rid of diesel trucks by 2030, never vent CO2, never burn straw, try not to burn raw biogas!

And RC is great!

Great article and spot on

“The UK doesn’t develop oil and gas to lower prices at home, as it plays in a global market. It produces domestic hydrocarbons to earn tax revenues – vital at a time of exceedingly high national debt – to create jobs, and to improve the balance of payments”

From 5 years ago

“How about exempting new industrial heat pumps and electrolysis plants from the environmental charges in electricity bills? Without this we are stuck”

It was obvious then and is obvious now

Ofgem 9 point plan for decarbonisation

“Work with government and industry to decarbonise heating”

How about exempting new industrial heat pumps and electrolysis plants...

I think having @NESO pay for the capacity and free issue the gas is an easier model post 2030 when load factor is low

They also need to change the capacity market to fund <3% load factor gas engine plants and send the CCGTs to the scrapyard

No need to nationalise which seems like a distraction

Having air conditioning is up there with storing photos on your phone as equivalent to setting fire to the Amazon rainforest

It’s a problem that far right parties are the pro-air conditioner parties in Europe

Chat GPT days

“Solar power (with battery storage) is the only confirmed method for on-site electricity generation at Otterpool Park. There are no documented contingency plans for alternative generation such as wind, biogas, waste-to-energy, or other renewables”

Must be a very sunny part of Kent!

European Union has bought it all!

This looks ok from our gas data centre friend

Demand is growing significantly, big new demands for LNG and data centres

Detailed data is here

2% is a huge number, 0.2% should be fine. I recall a detailed Equinor report on their CH4 husbandry and it’s basically good engineering practice (you can’t have leaks of gas out of high pressure pipelines!!)
baldwinbiogas.bsky.social
This is new info - to sell LNG into EU needs to be <0.2% leakage which will be met by US LNG

You've heard of #methane super-emitters at oil and gas facilities.

But have you heard of super-emitting LNG supply chains?

Our latest work uses satellite data on 12 LNG exporting countries to assess their GHG intensity.
