A mix of things flowering at the moment. Top left is a thoroughly unseasonal foxglove with below it dahlia Totally Tangerine and then a potted bronze coloured chrysanthemum. In the middle is dahlia Octopus Sparkle and below it Blue Bayou. On the right are a salvia a dahlia Ashpire Fancy.

A hummingbird hawk moth on a salvia in the back garden fir #InsectThursday

This is a hummingbird hawk moth with it’s wings spread out to show big orange flashes. It is feeding on a pink salvia.

Had to go back over a few weeks to get enough reds for this week #GardensHour

This is a red tigridia flower. It is triangular in shape and has a darker red centre flecked with yellow

This flower is called Blood of Pan, a very dramatic name for a very deep red cup shaped flower.

This is one of the flowers from the Bloody Mary nasturtiums I grew from seed this year.

A deep magenta cosmos called Fandango Purple

A very frilly bicolour cosmos. White petals tipped in pink

Cosmos Pink Denim. Really like this one with mid pink petals flecked with white.

This is really unusual for a cosmos. It’s white with a pink centre but the petals are much more separated than normal, almost squared off.

This is a really beautiful rose called Emily Brontë. It is white/pale cream but before it fully opens, as in this picture, the centre is a tightly furled peachy pink.

A very small zinnia. Supposed to be Zinderella Lilac but they seem to be very variable in colour. This one is creamy coloured with a very faint pink tinge

An anemones called Panda. Pure white petals with big black fluffy stamens, a bit like eyelashes

A lovely clematis called Bee’s Jubilee which is a lavender purple with a broad bright pink stripe down the centre of each petal

This is an unusual clematis called Broughton Bride. The flowers are white but they don’t open out flat but hang like a handkerchief.

Rosa Old Wollerton Hall is having a big second flush of flowers #RoseWednesday

This rose is called Old Wollerton Hall and it’s a climber. It has taken a long time to flower well but is having a real moment with these big clusters of peachy cream flowers.

This is a tigridia. It is a very unusual shape a bit like an aeroplane propeller. It is a clear light red with a deeper red centre spotted with yellow

This is a venidia arctotis. It is a bright orange daisy with concentric black rings in the centre
