Through follow up responses in this email chain, unfortunately, it is possible to encourage Saku to disappear, leading to her consciousness being erased entirely

Sakubo is a player character from The World R:2, a MMORPG set within .hack//G.U. & its spinoffs within the dot Hack franchise.

Their character's introduced as a female PC that's shared by a pair of twins offline who take turns playing the MMO on the same account.

However!

Two very similar looking, harlequin themed, child characters with light blonde hair and brown eyes, standing back to back, each with a large, red grimoire tome. Their clothing and hairstyles are nearly identical, apart from the ways they're styled and easy to miss details.
The girl in the front holds her tome open, standing confidently sither her hand on her hip and making eye contact with the viewer. Her hair is slightly shorter in the front, longer in the back, and styled so as to flip up a bit at the tips. Her hat is worn with the right side, with a small sun ornament affixed to the tip, tilted up and the left side, with a small moon ornament, tilted down. I have as many feelings about this as I do any Kubrick or Hitchcock project & then some.

Shelley Duvall is my childhood & Scatman Crothers is a saint, afaik.

That said, this film was, for better or for worse, deeply formative - & remains one of my all time favourites.

I was going to go with Ju-On here, but I'm highlighting a different Shimizu film first.

Rinne just hit different & was really underrated, imo. I'm not personally creeped out by haunted dolls, but the one in this was done beautifully. Truly loved this premise & think it's a great Twist™ film.
