Oldies but Goodies - French is Weird 01 - "Cucul la Praline"

A page in english explaining the french expression "cucul la praline"
"So, in France we have this expression when something is a bit silly and very (too much) sweet, we say it's Cucul la Praline. Example of cucul la praline: some rom-com like "Love, Actually" or feelgood movies like "Amelie" (Image of Amelie saying "Let's go to Montmartre and have a chocolate, I'll tell everyone they are special"
Cucul comes from "cul", that means "ass". We don't relly know why it means silly/sweet. But there are other examples of doubling the word to make it cuter. Like "con" (stupid) becomes "con-con" (a bit stupid but well-meaning" - La praline is an almond covered in sugar, an old recipe created in the XVIII century for the Marechal de Plessis Pralin (Image of the marechal saying "mmh very delicious mon ami")
We don't really know why cucul and la praline ended up together. Probably because it sounded funny and insisted on the "sweet" side. There are (less-known) versions with "cucul la fraise" (ass-ass-the strawberry) or -weirder- "cucul la rainette" (ass-ass-the-frog)
There is no exact translation in English, but my friend proposed "Butt-butt-nutty", so if you are a journalist or a writer or else, please use it. I would love it to become a real expression.

Some people pretend it could also come from a coconut from praslin in the Seychelles, but there is no explanation on why it would mean "silly" (it's called coco-fesse (coco-butt) because of its shape)
